New Member Orientation

As a requirement of membership in the National Association of REALTORS®, new members must attend the New Member Orientation Course of the Elmira-Corning Board of REALTORS®, Inc. It will cover topics including Professional Standards, Fair Housing, Code of Ethics, Lead Based Paint, Agency Disclosure, and Multiple Listing Service. After the class participants will be inducted into the Board and will receive their REALTOR® pin and certificate. The course will be held approximately two times a year. Agents who are required to attend this course will be notified by the board prior to the course. Please contact the Board Office at 607-562-7035 if you have any questions.

Salesperson Classes 2010 Schedule

75 Hour Salesperson Qualifying Course

Date: September 16, 2010 through October 26, 2010
Time: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday Evenings
Classes begin at 6pm, end times vary between 9pm and 10pm
Cost: $560.00 (includes textbooks) EARLY BIRD SPECIAL -register before September 1 and pay only $499
($100 deposit is due with application, balance is due the first night of class)

Please complete the application form and return to the Board Office with your non-refundable deposit of $100. Course reservation will be made upon receipt of your deposit and completed application.

In accordance with New York State License Law §176.6, students who miss one or more course module totaling more than 10 percent of the time prescribed for the course, will not receive credit for the course.

Students who fail to attend the required scheduled class hours may, at the discretion of the approved entity, make up the missed subject matter during subsequent classes presented by the approved entity. (Additional fees may apply.)

Final examinations may not be taken by any student who has not satisfied the attendance requirement.

30 Hour Remedial Real Estate Course

This course is a prerequisite to "bridge the gap" for currently licensed Salesperson who now wish to obtain a Broker's licnese but have taken the 45 hour Salesperson Course, not the new 75 hour course. No state exam is given for the 30 hour Remedial Course, however, students must pass an end of the course exam. Those passing the exam also earn 19.5 hours of continuing education (3.0 hurs of Fair Housing would still be needed to fulfill the 22.5 hour CE requirement.)

Once a student has passed the end of course exam they may proceed to take the 45 hour Broker's Course.
